Blue Streak is a fast-paced action comedy directed by Les Mayfield. Although there is no official sequel titled “Blue Streak 2,” the original film itself delivers a complete and entertaining story filled with humor, crime, and clever twists. It follows a criminal who must pretend to be a police officer in order to recover something very valuable.
The story centers on Miles Logan, played by Martin Lawrence, a skilled jewel thief who successfully steals a large diamond. However, during his escape, he is forced to hide the gem inside a building that is still under construction. Unfortunately for him, he is arrested shortly afterward and sent to prison before he can retrieve it.
Two years later, Miles is released from prison and returns to the location to recover the diamond. To his surprise, the construction site has been turned into a police station. Determined to get his hands on the diamond, he comes up with a risky plan: he pretends to be a detective in order to gain access to the building.

At first, Miles struggles to maintain his cover, as he has no real experience as a police officer. However, his street knowledge and quick thinking unexpectedly help him solve real cases. His colleagues begin to respect him, especially his partner, who believes that Miles is a talented detective.
As the story progresses, Miles finds himself caught between his criminal past and his new role. While trying to secretly retrieve the diamond, he also becomes involved in a major investigation involving dangerous criminals. This creates tension as he must balance his true identity with his fake one.
Eventually, the situation becomes more complicated when the people connected to the stolen diamond return, putting everyone in danger. Miles is forced to make difficult decisions, and his journey becomes not just about the diamond, but also about who he wants to be.
In the end, Blue Streak is more than just a comedy about a thief in disguise. It explores themes of identity, change, and redemption. Through humor and action, the film shows how a person can evolve when given a second chance, even in the most unexpected circumstances.
