The fourth installment in the Riddick saga, Riddick: Furya, marks the long‑awaited return of Vin Diesel as Richard B. Riddick, with David Twohy once again directing. After over a decade’s wait since Riddick (2013), the new film promises to deepen the mythology around Riddick’s origins and explore territory that fans have speculated about for years.
The central premise revolves around Riddick finally returning to his home planet, Furya, a place he barely remembers and one he fears may have been destroyed by the powerful Necromonger Empire. On arrival, he discovers that Furya, though scarred and ravaged, is not entirely erased. Survivors of the Furian race are still present, hardened by war, loss, and displacement.

Conflict arises quickly: new enemies threaten what remains of the Furians, and Riddick must confront not only external foes but also his own past fears and uncertainties. Among these challenges is the distrust of other Furians, some of whom view Riddick as both a symbol of hope and an outsider; some even bear resemblance to him in ways he did not expect.
Beyond the action, Furya aims to explore themes of identity, legacy, and survival. Riddick is forced to reckon with what it means to belong, what it means to lead, and whether the burden of heritage is a gift or a curse. The stakes are not only personal but existential—if the Furians fall, so might a part of Riddick’s self that he’s long suppressed.

Production began in August 2024, with filming locations including Germany, Spain, and the UK. The film is produced by Vin Diesel (through his One Race Films), Samantha Vincent, and others, under the direction and screenplay of David Twohy. Though a precise release date had not been confirmed at the time of the latest reports, the film is widely anticipated by fans and media as a major sci‑fi action release for 2025.
